Shingles
Shingles (herpes zoster) is a painful viral infection caused by reactivation of the chickenpox virus. It can lead to a blistering rash and, in some cases, long-lasting nerve pain. Shingles vaccination may be recommended for adults aged +50, people with certain medical risk factors and individuals who want to reduce their risk of shingles and post-herpetic neuralgia (long-lasting nerve pain).
